Triathletes looking to include any swimming into your weekend, there is a beautiful 25-meter pool across the street from the Golden Eagle (The Swimming Hole - Stowe). There are also multiple open water swim spots on Waterbury Reservoir, and the bike path is also very close by and great for runs.

If you are not sure if this camp is right for you, please feel free to reach out to head Cycling Formula coach John Spinney at [email protected]

Our home for this 3 day camp is the Golden Eagle Resort and the lodging cost is included if you choose it!

The Golden Eagle is located in the heart of Stowe, you can walk most of the area's attractions right from the lodge!  Featuring large, modern guest rooms the lodge is synonymous with Vermont hospitality & service. The resort has a heated outdoor swimming pool, two fully stocked fishing ponds (with poles & bait available), playground area, tennis courts, fire pit, recreational nature trails & more!

  • Attendance at the 2022 Vermont Gravel Camp including all rides, seminars, & Coach-led discussions.

  • Official 2022 Gravel Camp T-shirt & Sticker - for campers and coaches ONLY!

  • Beautiful, mountainous, and rural Vermont roads that were made for EPIC gravel rides! (NOTE, you must be capable of maintaining 17-18 mph on open road). It is ideal that you have some off-road cycling experience. If you are unsure of your skill level, please contact us. If we feel you may be on the fence as far as skill and experience goes, we might prescribe a pre-camp training plan to prepare you for the rigors of camp.

  • Access to Cycling Formula Coaches and guest coaches for the duration of the camp.

  • 4-wheel drive, off-road SAG vehicle that will be covering the route that day. The SAG will be stocked to fix flats and take care of other minor repairs, however we strongly urge you to bring and carry your own repair kit so that you are self-sufficient in case you suffer a flat tire in an area where a vehicle cannot get to you easily or quickly. Being prepared will allow you to get back up and running much quicker than waiting around for a SAG.  Riders must also keep a small bag of personal items (jackets, more food, etc.) PLUS extra water bottles in the SAG.

  • Because #BeerIsRecovery... Post-ride, ice-cold Vermont Craft Beer!!  Let’s celebrate our day’s achievements by partaking in some of Vermont’s finest local brews!

  • Standard Hotel accomodations at The Golden Eagle (shared with another camper)

  • NEW! Breakfast and post-ride meals, provided by The Nest Café at the Golden Eagle Resort. Meals included - Fri: Dinner, Sat: Breakfast & Dinner (out), Sun: Breakfast & light lunch.

  • The Cycling Formula will provide some fueling, courtesy of our partners at Gatorade Endurance & Picky Bar. Be sure to bring some of your own, however, as these will be challenging rides that will require you to plan your fueling accordingly! You’re going to pedaling and climbing a LOT!

PLEASE NOTE: Riders will be required to fill their own water bottles and store them in their own personal bag that will kept in the SAG during each day’s ride.

  • Gravel specific, Cyclocross, or modified hardtail MTB bike is required. We will be utilizing the glorious gravel roads of Vermont and a bike with at least 32mm wide tires will be required. If you do not have one of these bikes, please see the next note. We have options for you.

  • AJ's Ski and Bike Shop  down the street from the Golden Eagle has a number of properly out-fitted gravel bikes for rent (size 49-58). Contact Luke Moore at AJ's, (802) 253-4593. NOTE: Price of gravel bike rental is NOT included in camp cost.  AJ's charges, however, a very reasonable rental rate for very well-outfitted gravel bikes.

  • If you have questions about The Vermont Gravel Camp please don’t hesitate to contact [email protected].

  • If The Cycling Formula cancels camp, a full refund will be issued.

  • If the state of Vermont, Lamoille County, or the city of Stowe mandate we cannot run camp, a full refund will be issued.

  • If you have any questions about the refund policy, please do not hesitate to contact Director Tim Snow at [email protected].

“The Cycling Formula Gravel Camp was fantastic. Everything was arranged wonderfully - from lodging to meals to snacks to routes - so all we had to do was show up and ride our hearts out. The coaches clearly enjoyed the weekend too, having fun riding and getting to know all of us. They were so supportive! I came away challenged physically and mentally, and can’t wait to go back.”

“I would highly recommend the cycling formula gravel camp! I gained a ton of knowledge and fitness, all while having a blast riding in one of the most beautiful places in New England!”

“My favorite part of camp was the people; the coaches and attendees. Perfect mix of hard core and laid back.”

“Vermont gravel camp helped me do a few very important things as a rider. One. Ride with other like minded people in order to learn, grow and enjoy the experience. Two. Push myself and figure out a way to accomplish a goal and then be able to put that to use beyond camp. Three. Have a real bonafide adventure. Was more than worth the nearly 15 hour drive in and back. Camp helped two of us from Indiana get ready, physically and mentally for the upcoming Belgian Waffle Ride Asheville. Ready to come back next year!”
